Non-alcoholic Beers

Non-alcoholic beers

Non-alcoholic beers are beers that are brewed like conventional beer but have no or a very low alcohol content. The alcohol content is a maximum of up to 0.5% vol. alcohol.

Alcohol-free beer is produced in a similar way to normal beer, but the alcohol content is reduced in different ways.

There are two main methods of producing non-alcoholic beer:

  1. Heat treatment: in this method, the beer is heated after fermentation to evaporate the alcohol. However, this method can affect the taste and aroma of the beer.

  2. Filtration: In this method, the beer is passed through special filters that remove the yeast and alcohol. The result is a beer that retains the taste and aroma of traditional beer, but contains very little or no alcohol.

  3. Yeast: There are also special yeasts that can be used in the production of non-alcoholic beer. These yeasts convert sugar into carbon dioxide and aromatic substances without producing alcohol. This produces a beer with a natural taste and aroma, but which does not contain alcohol.

The choice of method depends on various factors, such as the desired taste and alcohol content. Each producer has its own method for making alcohol-free beer, but all methods aim to reduce the alcohol content to a very low or non-existent level without affecting the taste and aroma of the beer.

Alcohol-free beers are a good choice for people who do not want to drink alcohol for health, sport or personal reasons, but still want to enjoy the taste of beer.
