Brasserie Dupont, Belgium

Brasserie Dupont is a renowned Belgian farmhouse-brewery known for its high-quality Belgian beers and especially its famous seasonal beer.

A former farmhouse dating back to 1759, Brasserie Dupont became the Rimaux-Derrider farm brewery in 1844, specialising in the production of honey and seasonal beers, so called because farm breweries produced this type of beer in winter for consumption in the fields in summer.

In 1920, the agronomist Louis Dupont wanted to buy a farm in Canada. To dissuade him, his father Alfred Dupont bought him this farm brewery. Louis Dupont gave us a new variation of the basic "Saison" recipe, which is known today as Saison Dupont.

In 1945, Louis Dupont handed over Brasserie Dupont to his nephew Sylva Rosier, who worked as a brewing engineer and technical advisor in Belgium and abroad.

After the Second World War, Pils beers became very popular. Many small Belgian breweries disappeared because they could not meet this demand. It was Sylva Rosier's dynamism and technical knowledge that ensured the survival of Brasserie Dupont with the introduction of Redor Pils.
