Brown Ale

Brown Ale

A Brown Ale is the "little" sibling of Porter and Stout. Dark, amber-like color and yet clear and with 4.2 - 6.0% ABV rather light beers. In the craft beer scene, Brown Ales are of course also creatively modified and meanwhile you can also find Double Brown Ales with up to 8% ABV. The character is soft and silky, mostly quaffable. Notes of cookie and caramel are characteristic, which tend to be heavy and sweet in the finish. The hop flavor is usually subtle and the bitterness barely noticeable.
