Põhjala

Põhjala was founded in Tallinn, Estonia, in late 2011 by four Estonian beer lovers and home brewers. Soon after, a Scottish head brewer, Chris Pilkington, joined the company with several years of Brewdog experience. The first Põhjala beer, Öö Imperial Baltic Porter, was released in early 2013, and for most of the year, Põhjala's craft beers were brewed at other breweries' production facilities while the guys prepared to open their own brewery. Construction of the first Põhjala brewery was completed in April 2014 in Tallinn's Nõmme district. At the end of 2018, the microbrewery moved to the historic Noblessner shipyard by the sea in the north of Tallinn.

Põhjala's creative beers are now extremely well known in the craft beer scene and impress with their quality and attention to detail. Põhjala currently exports to over 30 markets worldwide and to almost all countries in Europe.
